Methods for transmitting data via free space spatiotemporal patterns

A method for encoding data in a datacenter comprising:

• obtaining the data to be encoded, the data including first information intended for a first recipient and second information intended for a second recipient;
• encoding the data, including the first information and the second information, to a set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns, wherein, for each encoded spatiotemporal pattern of the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns:
• a first color of the encoded spatiotemporal pattern indicates a recipient of the encoded spatiotemporal pattern as the first recipient;
• and
• a second color of the spatiotemporal pattern indicates the recipient of the encoded spatiotemporal pattern as the second recipient;
• and
• outputting the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns for transmitting the first information to the first recipient and the second information to the second recipient via the set of encoded spatiotemporal patterns.
