Abstract
The present device comprises an elongated whip having a handle that includes a receiver with an opening at a distal end thereof for receiving a proximal end of the whip therein. The receiver further includes a pivotable barrel at a proximal end thereof. A handle body has a barrel receiver formed in a distal end of the handle body. As such the pivotal barrel is free to rotate within an angular range between where the receiver strikes the handle body on one side to the other. The handle body can be pivoted with respect to the receiver so that the handle body lies flat against a belt concealing the handle. When the user needs to brandish the whip, the handle body can be manually pulled away from the belt, pulling the whip out of the pocket, to brandish the whip.
Claims20
A personal defense belt for encircling a waist of a person, comprising:
- an elongated flexible web having an inside surface, an outside surface, a first end, a second end, a top edge, and a bottom edge;
- a buckle mechanism at least partially fixed with the first end of the flexible web and for selectively fixing the first end of the flexible web with the second end of the flexible web around the person's waist;
- an elongated flexible cover fixed with the outside surface of the flexible web proximate the first end and extending along the flexible web to a terminating location, the flexible cover including an inside surface, an outside surface, a proximal end, a distal end, a top edge, and a bottom edge, a width of the flexible cover from the top edge thereof to the bottom edge thereof being larger than a width of the flexible web from the top edge thereof to the bottom edge thereof such that the flexible cover forms a bulge over the flexible web, the top edge of the flexible cover fixed with the top edge of the flexible web, and the bottom edge of the flexible cover fixed with the bottom edge of the flexible web, thereby forming a whip storage space between the flexible cover and the flexible web;
- a whip having a proximal end and a distal end, a handle fixed with the proximal end of the whip, the whip selectively stowable in the whip storage space;
- a pad of low-friction material fixed with the inside surface of the flexible cover at the proximal end of the flexible cover to facilitate removal of the whip from the whip storage space;
- whereby the person may grasp the handle of the whip and pull the whip from the whip storage space so as to quickly brandish the whip.
A personal defense belt for encircling a waist of a person, comprising:
- an elongated flexible web having an inside surface, an outside surface, a first end, a second end, a top edge, and a bottom edge, the outside surface of the flexible web proximate the first end including a loop side of a hook-and-loop fastening material;
- a buckle mechanism at least partially fixed with the first end of the flexible web and for selectively fixing the first end of the flexible web with the second end of the flexible web around the person's waist;
- an elongated flexible cover fixed with the outside surface of the flexible web proximate the first end and extending along the flexible web to a terminating location, the flexible cover including an inside surface, an outside surface, a proximal end, a distal end, a top edge, and a bottom edge, a width of the flexible cover from the top edge thereof to the bottom edge thereof being larger than a width of the flexible web from the top edge thereof to the bottom edge thereof, the top edge of the flexible cover fixed with the top edge of the flexible web, and the bottom edge of the flexible cover fixed with the bottom edge of the flexible web, thereby forming a whip storage space between the flexible cover and the flexible web;
- a whip having a proximal end and a distal end, a handle fixed with the proximal end of the whip, the handle including a hook side of the hook-and-loop fastening material, the whip selectively stowable in the whip storage space;
- whereby when the whip is stowed in the whip storage space the handle is fixed with the outside surface of the flexible web at the hook-and-loop fastening material;
- whereby the person may grasp the handle of the whip and pull the whip from the whip storage space so as to quickly brandish the whip.
A personal defense belt for encircling a waist of a person, comprising:
- an elongated flexible web having an inside surface, an outside surface, a first end, a second end, a top edge, and a bottom edge;
- a buckle mechanism at least partially fixed with the first end of the flexible web and for selectively fixing the first end of the flexible web with the second end of the flexible web around the person's waist;
- an elongated flexible cover fixed with the outside surface of the flexible web proximate the first end and extending along the flexible web to a terminating location, the flexible cover including an inside surface, an outside surface, a proximal end, a distal end, a top edge, and a bottom edge, a width of the flexible cover from the top edge thereof to the bottom edge thereof being larger than a width of the flexible web from the top edge thereof to the bottom edge thereof such that the flexible cover forms a bulge over the flexible web, the top edge of the flexible cover fixed with the top edge of the flexible web, and the bottom edge of the flexible cover fixed with the bottom edge of the flexible web, thereby forming a whip storage space between the flexible cover and the flexible web;
- a whip having a proximal end and a distal end, a handle fixed with the proximal end of the whip, the whip selectively stowable in the whip storage space such that, when the whip is stowed in the whip storage space, the handle of the whip is exposed at the outside surface of the flexible web and is not configured to be selectively covered or concealed by the personal defense belt, thereby being readily available to be grasped by the person;
- whereby the person may grasp the handle of the whip and pull the whip from the whip storage space so as to quickly brandish the whip.
