Abstract
A vehicle cover assembly comprising; a flexible cover; one or more side rails; and a fastener assembly that is secured to a vehicle bed comprising; a cover fastener that is on one or more edge regions of the flexible cover; and a side rail fastener with one or more rows of fasteners comprising; a plurality of dual hooks on the base that releasably connect with the cover fastener of the flexible cover; and a plurality of spacers between the plurality of dual hooks.
Claims19
A tonneau cover assembly comprising:
- a tonneau cover having a cover fastener;
- a side rail configured to be attached to a side wall of a cargo area of a vehicle or pick-up truck;
- a side rail fastener secured to the side rail and configured to cooperate with the cover fastener to releasably connect the tonneau cover to the side rail;
- wherein the side rail fastener comprises:
- i) a substrate;
- ii) a plurality of first dual hooks arranged in a first row along a length of the substrate each having a first connection body extending from the substrate, a front first hook extending from the first connection body, a rear first hook extending from the first connection body, and a first recess is defined between the front first hook and the rear first hook, the first connection body defines a first connection edge, and the first connection edge abuts the substrate, each of the front first hook and the rear first hook extends from the first connection body, each of the front first hook and the rear first hook points in a first direction;
- and
- iii) a plurality of second dual hooks arranged in a second row immediately adjacent to the first row of the plurality of first dual hooks along the length of the substrate and each having a second connection body extending from the substrate, a front second hook extending from the second connection body, and a rear second hook extending from the second connection body, the second connection body defines a second connection edge, and the second connection edge abuts the substrate, each of the front second hook and the rear second hook extends from the second connection body, each of the front second hook and the rear second hook points in a second direction, and the second direction is opposite the first direction;
- wherein the substrate has a first longitudinal end and a second longitudinal end opposite the first longitudinal end, the length of the substrate is defined from the first longitudinal end to the second longitudinal end along a lengthwise direction;
- wherein the substrate has a width, the substate has a first lateral end and a second lateral end opposite the first lateral end, the width of the substrate is defined from the first lateral end to the second lateral end along a width direction, and the width direction is perpendicular to the lengthwise direction;
- and
- wherein each of the plurality of first dual hooks and the plurality of second dual hooks is closer to the first lateral end than to the second lateral end.

A tonneau cover assembly comprising:
- a tonneau cover having a cover fastener;
- a side rail configured to be attached to a side wall of a cargo area of a vehicle or pick-up truck;
- a side rail fastener secured to the side rail and configured to cooperate with the cover fastener to releasably connect the tonneau cover to the side rail;
- wherein the side rail fastener comprises:
- i) a substrate;
- ii) a plurality of first dual hooks arranged in a first row along a length of the substrate each having a first connection body extending from the substrate, a front first hook extending from the first connection body, a rear first hook extending from the first connection body, and a first recess is defined between the front first hook and the rear first hook, the first connection body defines a first connection edge, and the first connection edge abuts the substrate, each of the front first hook and the rear first hook extends from the first connection body, each of the front first hook and the rear first hook points in a first direction;
- and
- iii) a plurality of second dual hooks arranged in a second row immediately adjacent to the first row of the plurality of first dual hooks along the length of the substrate and each having a second connection body extending from the substrate, a front second hook extending from the second connection body, and a rear second hook extending from the second connection body, the second connection body defines a second connection edge, and the second connection edge abuts the substrate, each of the front second hook and the rear second hook extends from the second connection body, each of the front second hook and the rear second hook points in a second direction, and the second direction is opposite the first direction;
- wherein the substrate has a first longitudinal end and a second longitudinal end opposite the first longitudinal end, the length of the substrate is defined from the first longitudinal end to the second longitudinal end along a lengthwise direction;
- wherein the substrate has a width, the substate has a first lateral end and a second lateral end opposite the first lateral end, the width of the substrate is defined from the first lateral end to the second lateral end along a width direction, and the width direction is perpendicular to the lengthwise direction;
- and
- wherein each of the plurality of first dual hooks and the plurality of second dual hooks is closer to the second lateral end than to the first lateral end.
