Abstract
According to the invention there is provided an antimicrobial agent for use in maintaining or re-establishing a healthy genital microbiome, wherein the antimicrobial agent is a predatory bacterium.

A method of maintaining or re-establishing a subject's healthy genital microbiome, the method comprising administering a predatory bacterium to the external genital area of the subject and/or the vagina of the subject,
- wherein the predatory bacterium is Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus.
A method of prophylaxis or treatment of a gram-negative bacterial infection in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering a predatory bacterium to the external genital area of the subject and/or the vagina of the subject,
- wherein the predatory bacterium is Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus.
