Abstract
The invention concerns methods for treating unwanted body weight loss, and/or medically undesired body weight loss, or eating disorders (such as anorexia nervosa), by administration of a leptin receptor agonist, such as metreleptin. The invention also relates to methods for increasing body weight in a subject in need of the treatment.

A method for treating a neuropsychiatric symptom of anorexia nervosa in a human subject, the method comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of leptin, a leptin- and/or leptin receptor agonist, a leptin analog or a derivative thereof, to the human subject suffering from anorexia nervosa, thereby ameliorating the neuropsychiatric symptom of anorexia nervosa in the human subject.
