Abstract
Exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide a virtual dispatch assist system in which various types of Intelligent Agents are deployed (e.g., as part of a new CAD system architecture or as add-ons to existing CAD systems) to analyze vast amounts of historic operational data and provide various types of dispatch assist notifications and recommendations that can be used by a dispatcher or by the CAD system itself (e.g., autonomously) to make dispatch decisions.
Claims19
A computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system comprising:
- a CAD database storing CAD data including event descriptions and a list of named patterns, each named pattern of the list of named patterns including a pre-defined pattern expression describing a defined configuration of numbers, letters, and/or symbols associated with a corresponding type of information and having an associated user-selectable action;
- and
- at least one server comprising at least one processor and a tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon a computer program which, when executed by the at least one processor, implements computer processes comprising a pattern agent configured to operate autonomously without being queried by a user to identify all patterns in an event description matching the pre-defined pattern expression of one or more of the named patterns stored in the CAD database and produce, for each identified pattern, a dispatch-related notification including the identified pattern, type of identified pattern, and the associated user-selectable action, wherein the user-selectable action includes an option to look up the identified pattern expression in a database associated with the type of identified pattern, and wherein the dispatch-related notification is attached to the event associated with the event description in the CAD database as a special remark or comment to allow users to understand how the dispatch-related notification was created and why information is relevant.
A computer program product comprising a tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium having embodied therein a computer program which, when run on a computer, implements computer processes comprising a pattern agent configured to operate autonomously without being queried by a user to identify, using a list of named patterns stored in a CAD database, each named pattern of the list of named patterns including a pre-defined pattern expression describing a defined configuration of numbers, letters, and/or symbols associated with a corresponding type of information and having an associated user-selectable action, all patterns in an event description matching the pre-defined pattern expression of one or more of the named patterns stored in the CAD database and produce, for each identified pattern, a dispatch-related notification including the identified pattern, type of identified pattern, and the associated user-selectable action, wherein the user-selectable action includes an option to look up the identified pattern expression in a database associated with the type of identified pattern, and wherein the dispatch-related notification is attached to the event associated with the event description in the CAD database as a special remark or comment to allow users to understand how the dispatch-related notification was created and why information is relevant.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- maintaining a CAD database storing CAD data including event descriptions and a list of named patterns, each named pattern of the list of named patterns including a pre-defined pattern expression describing a defined configuration of numbers, letters, and/or symbols associated with a corresponding type of information and having an associated user-selectable action;
- and
- providing a pattern agent configured to operate autonomously without being queried by a user to identify all patterns in an event description matching the pre-defined pattern expression of one or more of the named patterns stored in the CAD database and produce, for each identified pattern, a dispatch-related notification including the identified pattern, type of identified pattern, and the associated user-selectable action, wherein the user-selectable action includes an option to look up the identified pattern expression in a database associated with the type of identified pattern, and wherein the dispatch-related notification is attached to the event associated with the event description in the CAD database as a special remark or comment to allow users to understand how the dispatch-related notification was created and why information is relevant.
