Abstract
A prefabricated wall frame system and method, including a frame and at least one structural support member disposed on said frame, wherein said frame and said at least one structural support member are vertically adjustable.
Claims23
A prefabricated wall frame assembly system structured for installation in a partially complete structure having at least a floor and a ceiling, comprising:
- a frame comprising a plurality of interconnected structural members;
- at least one structural support member disposed on the frame, wherein the at least one structural support member is vertically adjustable;
- a telescopic modular system including the at least one structural support member, the at least one structural support member comprising a first stud and a second stud disposed in slidable relation to one another, wherein the first stud and the second stud overlap by at least a minimum overlap distance, and wherein the first stud is configured to telescope within the second stud along the vertical axis of the frame such that the first stud is configured to be fixed at any position along the second stud, through relative sliding between the first stud and the second stud, across a range of positions without the use of fixed-position detents;
- and
- a cap member disposed in vertically slidable communication with the frames the cap member being coupled to the frame via at least one elongate oblong aperture extending along a vertical axis of the frame,
- wherein the cap member is structured to slide along the vertical axis of the frame without the use of fixed-position detents,
- wherein the oblong aperture defines a continuous sliding path that permits vertical adjustment of the cap member across a range of positions and guides movement of the cap member along the vertical axis, and
- wherein the cap member is configured to be positioned adjacent a ceiling surface upon vertical adjustment into an installed disposition.

- and
- a foot member disposed at a bottom of the frame, the foot member configured to attach the prefabricated wall frame assembly system to a floor surface, thereby stabilizing the frame during and after vertical installation of the cap member into an installed disposition against the ceiling.
