Abstract
An aerial drone may include a drone body having a longitudinal housing carrying a processing circuit and a battery, the longitudinal housing extending in a first direction. The drone may include a sensor rod carried by the drone body and extending from the drone body in a second direction different from the first direction, the sensor rod carrying a sensor at a distal end of the sensor rod. The drone may include a propeller guard connected to the distal end of the sensor rod and supported at least partially by the sensor rod, the propeller guard forming part of a periphery of the aerial drone.
Claims19
An aerial drone, comprising:
- a drone body having a longitudinal housing forming an enclosure carrying (1) a front camera at a front region of the enclosure and (2) a processing circuit, the enclosure being elongated in a longitudinal direction, the longitudinal housing comprising an upper housing and a lower housing respectively forming an upper part and an lower part of the enclosure that carries the processing circuit;
- a sensor rod carried by one of the upper housing or the lower housing and extending from the drone body in a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, the sensor rod extending in the lateral direction to a first distal lateral end and a second distal lateral end, the sensor rod carrying a first sensor at the first distal lateral end;
- a motor rod carried by another of the upper housing or the lower housing so that the motor rod and the sensor rod are carried at different parts of the enclosure, and the motor rod extending from the drone body in the lateral direction, the motor rod carrying a propeller;
- and
- a propeller guard connecting the first distal lateral end and the longitudinal housing, the propeller guard supported at least partially by the sensor rod and by the front region of the enclosure that carries the front camera, the propeller guard forming part of a periphery of the aerial drone.
A system comprising:
- a base station for performing battery swap operation;
- and
- an aerial drone, comprising:
- a drone body having a longitudinal housing forming an enclosure carrying (1) a front camera at a front region of the enclosure and (2) a processing circuit, the enclosure being elongated in a longitudinal direction, the longitudinal housing comprising an upper housing and a lower housing respectively forming an upper part and an lower part of the enclosure that carries the processing circuit;
- a sensor rod carried by one of the upper housing or the lower housing and extending from the drone body in a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, the sensor rod extending in the lateral direction to a first distal lateral end and a second distal lateral end, the sensor rod carrying a first sensor at the first distal lateral end;
- a motor rod carried by another of the upper housing or the lower housing so that the motor rod and the sensor rod are carried at different parts of the enclosure, and the motor rod extending from the drone body in the lateral direction, the motor rod carrying a propeller;
- and
- a propeller guard connecting the first distal lateral end and the longitudinal housing, the propeller guard supported at least partially by the sensor rod and by the front region of the enclosure that carries the front camera, the propeller guard forming part of a periphery of the aerial drone.
