An encryption/decryption system, comprising an encryption/decryption circuit (1), a first interface component (2), and a second interface component (3),

• wherein the encryption/decryption circuit (1) is in a physical layer chip and configured to:
• encrypt a first physical layer data stream from the first interface component (2);
• transmit the encrypted first physical layer data stream to the second interface component (3);
• decrypt a second physical layer data stream from the second interface component (3);
• and
• transmit the decrypted second physical layer data stream to the first interface component (2);
• wherein the encryption/decryption circuit (1) comprises a plurality of encryption channels (111), wherein each encryption channel comprises a first data stream locking circuit (1111), and a first circuit;
• the first data stream locking circuit (1111) is configured to perform data stream locking on a bit stream entering each encryption channel (111);
• the first circuit is configured to encrypt the locked bit stream entering the each encryption channel (111) according to an encryption algorithm, and insert an initialization vector (IV) or a message authentication code (MAC).
