Biometric authentication device, biometric authentication method, and recording medium

A biometric authentication method comprising:

• inputting a probe signal into an ear of a user;
• extracting an ear acoustic feature of the user from a reverberation sound of the probe signal outputted from the ear of the user;
• informing the user of a one-time password and requesting the user to speak the one-time password;
• extracting a talker feature from the utterances of the user;
• authenticating the user based on each of the ear acoustic feature and the talker feature;
• identifying the user with a first biometric authentication result based on the ear acoustic feature and a second biometric authentication result based on the talker feature;
• and
• when notified from the user or another constituent member that there is an abnormality or defect in either the ear authentication or the voice authentication, weighting a result of one of the first biometric authentication or the second biometric authentication that has been successfully completed.

A non-transitory recording medium having a biometric authentication program stored thereon, the biometric authentication program causing a computer to perform:

• inputting a probe signal into an ear of a user;
• extracting an ear acoustic feature of the user from a reverberation sound of the probe signal outputted from the ear of the user;
• informing the user of a one-time password and requesting the user to speak the one-time password;
• extracting a talker feature from the utterances of the user;
• authenticating the user based on each of the ear acoustic feature and the talker feature;
• identifying the user with a first biometric authentication result based on the ear acoustic feature and a second biometric authentication result based on the talker feature;
• and
• when notified from the user or another constituent member that there is an abnormality or defect in either the ear authentication or the voice authentication, weighting a result of one of the first biometric authentication or the second biometric authentication that has been successfully completed.
