Method for driving display scaler in video mode and electronic device using same method

A method performed by an electronic device including a display driver IC (DDI) configured to drive a display based on a video mode, the method comprising:

• generating, by one or more processors, first image data corresponding to a first resolution;
• generating, by the one or more processors, second image data by inserting a blank section to between at least some sequences of horizontal line data of the first image data, the blank section being inserted based on a second resolution that is larger than the first resolution, so that the second image data has a data flow corresponding to the second resolution;
• transmitting, by the one or more processors, the second image data to the DDI;
• converting, by an upscaler of the DDI, the second image data input from the one or more processors into third image data corresponding to the second resolution;
• and
• driving, by the DDI, the display to display the third image data.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media storing one or more computer programs including computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device individually or collectively, cause the electronic device to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• generating first image data corresponding to a first resolution;
• generating second image data by inserting a blank section between at least some sequences of horizontal line data of the first image data, the blank section being inserted based on a second resolution that is larger than the first resolution, so that the second image data has a data flow corresponding to the second resolution;
• transmitting the second image data to a display driver IC (DDI);
• converting, by an upscaler of the DDI, the second image data input into third image data corresponding to the second resolution;
• and
• driving, by the DDI, a display to display the third image data.
