Abstract
Provided herein may be an electronic device including a processor configured to control, in a selected first mode, one unit pixel among the plurality of unit pixels to emit light, and control the one unit pixel to be sensed, and configured to control, in a selected second mode, one unit pixel among the plurality of unit pixels to emit light, and control another unit pixel that does not emit light among the plurality of unit pixels to be sensed. The electronic device and a method of driving the electronic device in accordance with embodiments may provide a biometric authentication function and a biometric signal sensing function.
Claims17
An electronic device comprising:
- a display panel including a plurality of unit pixels, wherein each of the plurality of unit pixels includes a plurality of pixels each of which includes a light emitting element and at least one photo sensor which includes a light receiving element;
- a panel driving circuit configured to drive the plurality of pixels;
- a sensing circuit configured to sense the at least one photo sensor;
- and
- a processor configured to control the panel driving circuit and the sensing circuit,
- wherein the processor controls a first unit pixel among the plurality of unit pixels to emit light and controls the first unit pixel to be sensed in a selected first mode, and
- wherein the processor controls the first unit pixel among the plurality of unit pixels to emit light and controls a second unit pixel different from the first unit pixel that does not emit light among the plurality of unit pixels to be sensed in a selected second mode.
