Abstract
A system comprising a work machine and an attachment removably coupled with the work machine. The attachment includes an identification module comprising a transceiver configured to communicate with a control system of the work machines so as to improve the functionality and efficiency of the attachment and of the work machines.
Claims20
A vision system for a work machine, said system comprising:
- said work machine;
- an attachment configured to be removably coupled to said work machine;
- and
- a plurality of image sensors positioned on said work machine, wherein said image sensors are configured to obtain images of said work machine, of said attachment, and/or of an operating environment of said work machine;
- and
- a control system comprising a graphic display, wherein said control system is configured to present, via said graphic display, the images obtained from said plurality of image sensors,
- wherein said attachment includes an identification module with a transmitter configured to transmit identification information to said work machine when said attachment is coupled to said work machine, wherein the identification information is indicative of the attachment,
- wherein said control system is configured to store attachment characteristics for a plurality of different attachments, and wherein said control system is configured to determine, based on the identification information received from the identification module of the attachment, attachment characteristics for the attachment,
- wherein said control system is configured to determine, based on the attachment characteristics for the attachment, at least one preferred image sensor from said plurality of image sensors,
- wherein upon determining said at least one preferred image sensor, said control system is configured to present, via said graphic display, images obtained from said at least one preferred image sensor.

A method of controlling image sensors of a work machine, said method comprising the steps of:
- coupling an attachment to the work machine, wherein the attachment includes an identification module with a transmitter, and wherein the work machine includes a plurality of image sensors positioned on the work machine and configured to obtain images of the work machine, of the attachment, and/or of an operating environment of the work machine, wherein the work machine is additionally configured to store attachment characteristics for a plurality of different attachments;
- transmitting identification information from the identification module of the attachment to the work machine, wherein the identification information is indicative of the attachment;
- determining, based on the identification information transmitted from the identification module of the attachment, attachment characteristics for the attachment;
- determining, based on the attachment characteristics for the attachment, at least one preferred image sensor from the plurality of image sensors;
- and
- presenting, via a graphic display associated with the work machine, images obtained from the at least one preferred image sensor.
