Abstract
The present disclosure relates to strapped calixpyrrole compounds, polymer monomers and polymers comprising strapped calixpyrrole substructures, and compositions thereof. Also provided herein are methods of use of said strapped calixpyrrole compounds, polymer monomers, and polymers, such as for the selective extraction of specific salts.

A polymer comprising a subunit of the formula:
- wherein:
- R1, R1′, R2, R2′, R3, and R4 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl(C≤6), or substituted alkyl(C≤6);
- m and n are each independently 2, 3, 4, or 5;
- p is 1, 2, or 3;
- r is 1-50;
- X1, X2, and X3 are each independently arenediyl(C≤12) or substituted arenediyl(C≤12);
- and
- R7 is hydrogen, alkyl(C≤6), or substituted alkyl(C≤6);
- or a salt thereof.
