Abstract
The present application relates to an anticoccidial composition comprising a stilbene-based compound, and a use thereof. A composition comprising a compound or a salt thereof, according to one embodiment, has excellent effects of direct killing of protozoa that can induce coccidiosis, inhibiting the cell penetration of the protozoa and/or inhibiting the intracellular proliferation of the protozoa, and preventing, alleviating, and treating in vivo coccidiosis.
Claims10
A method for alleviating or treating coccidiosis, comprising administering a composition, comprising a compound of Chemical formula 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient, to an animal:
- wherein in the Chemical formula 1,
- (i) the R1 is OCH3 and R2 is OCH3;
- or
- (ii) the R1 is OH and R2 is OCH3,
- the coccidiosis is induced by an Eimeria sp. protozoan comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of Eimeria tenella, Eimeria acervulina, and Eimeria maxima, the composition is a feed composition comprising the compound of Chemical formula I or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof at a concentration of 10000 ppm or less, and the animal is a bird.
A method for killing Eimeria sp. protozoan, or inhibiting cell invasion or propagation of Eimeria sp. protozoan, comprising administering a compound of Chemical formula 1, or a salt thereof, to an animal:
- wherein in the Chemical formula 1,
- (i) the R1 is OCH3 and R2 is OCH3;
- or
- (ii) the R1 is OH and R2 is OCH3,
- the Eimeria sp. protozoan comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of Eimeria tenella, Eimeria acervulina, and Eimeria maxima,
- the composition is a feed composition comprising the compound of Chemical formula I or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof at a concentration of 10000 ppm or less, and the animal is a bird.
