Abstract
A bed system includes: a bed main body; a side rail provided on the bed main body; a driving unit configured to drive the side rail; a first detector configured to detect a motion of a user on the bed main body; and a controller configured to control the driving unit based on the motion of the user detected by the first detector.

A bed system comprising:
- a bed main body including a frame, a back section provided on the frame and configured to support a user's back and abdomen, and an upper leg section provided on the frame and configured to support the user's knee;
- a side rail provided on the bed main body;
- a plurality of actuators configured to drive the side rail, the frame, the back section, and the upper leg section, respectively;
- a first detector configured to detect a motion of the user on the bed main body;
- and
- a controller configured to
- store, as the user's motion pattern, motions of the user that have been detected in a motion pattern memory,
- predict a physical state or motion of the user based on comparison of the user's motion pattern stored in the motion pattern memory and the motion detected by the first detector, and
- control the plurality of actuators based on the predicted physical state or motion of the user.

- control the plurality of actuators based on the predicted physical state or motion of the user and the predicted motion of the caregiver.
