Abstract
Disclosed are exemplary embodiments of patterned electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation materials (e.g., EMI absorbers, thermally-conductive EMI absorbers, etc.) including carbon nanotubes. The carbon nanotubes may comprise single-walled carbon nanotubes, multi-walled carbon nanotubes, and/or carbon nanostructures comprising a branched network of crosslinked carbon nanotube structures. For example, an EMI mitigation material may comprise a filled dielectric including a pattern of EMI absorbers. The filled dielectric comprises carbon nanotubes.

An electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation material comprising a filled dielectric including a pattern of EMI absorbers, wherein:
- the EMI mitigation material includes a planarization layer having an inverted pattern of the pattern of EMI absorbers that interleaves with the pattern of EMI absorbers such that the planarization layer defines a planar surface over the pattern of EMI absorbers;
- and/or
- the pattern of EMI absorbers comprises a pattern of EMI absorbing pyramidal structures protruding outwardly along at least one side of the filled dielectric, the EMI absorbing pyramidal structures including bases configured such that the bases of adjacent EMI absorbing pyramidal structures contact each other or are adjacent without substantial gaps or spaced distances between the bases of adjacent EMI absorbing pyramidal structures.
An electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation material comprising a filled dielectric including a pattern of EMI absorbers, wherein:
- the EMI mitigation material includes a planarization layer having an inverted pattern of the pattern of EMI absorbers that interleaves with the pattern of EMI absorbers such that the planarization layer defines a planar surface over the pattern of EMI absorbers;
- and/or
- the pattern of EMI absorbers comprises a pattern of EMI absorbing pyramidal structures protruding outwardly along at least one side of the filled dielectric, the EMI absorbing pyramidal structures configured without substantial gaps or spaced distances between bases of adjacent EMI absorbing pyramidal structures at which reflectivity might otherwise occur.
An electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation material comprising a filled dielectric including a pattern of EMI absorbers, wherein:
- the EMI mitigation material includes a planarization layer having an inverted pattern of the pattern of EMI absorbers that interleaves with the pattern of EMI absorbers such that the planarization layer defines a planar surface over the pattern of EMI absorbers;
- and/or
- the pattern of EMI absorbers comprises a pattern of EMI absorbing pyramidal structures protruding outwardly along at least one side of the filled dielectric, the EMI absorbing pyramidal structures configured such that bases of adjacent EMI absorbing pyramidal structures are sufficiently adjacent to avoid reflectivity that might otherwise occur at substantial gaps or spaced distances between the bases of adjacent EMI absorbing pyramidal structures.
