Handheld electronic device

A portable electronic device comprising:

• a display;
• a battery;
• an enclosure enclosing the display and comprising:
• a front cover positioned over the display and defining a front exterior surface;
• and
• a rear cover defining a rear exterior surface and a raised sensor array region along the rear exterior surface, the raised sensor array region defining:
• a first hole extending through the raised sensor array region;
• and
• a second hole extending through the raised sensor array region and defined by:
• a first opening along an interior surface of the rear cover and having a first opening size;
• a second opening along the rear exterior surface of the rear cover and having a second opening size smaller than the first opening size;
• and
• a hole surface having:
• a tapered portion proximate the first opening;
• and
• a cylindrical portion proximate the second opening;
• a first camera having a first lens assembly at least partially within the enclosure and extending into the first hole;
• and
• a second camera having a second lens assembly at least partially within the enclosure and extending into the second hole, the second lens assembly defining:
• a base portion having a first outer diameter and extending through the first opening;
• and
• an end portion having a second outer diameter smaller than the first outer diameter and extending through the second opening.

A portable electronic device comprising:

• a display;
• an enclosure enclosing the display and comprising:
• a front cover positioned over the display and defining a front exterior surface;
• and
• a rear cover defining a rear exterior surface and a raised sensor array region along the rear exterior surface, the raised sensor array region defining:
• a first hole extending through the raised sensor array region;
• and
• a second hole extending through the raised sensor array region and defined by:
• a first opening along an interior surface of the rear cover and having a first opening size;
• and
• a second opening along the rear exterior surface of the rear cover and having a second opening size smaller than the first opening size;
• a frame member coupled to the rear cover and defining a tapered wall section extending into the second hole;
• a first camera having a first lens assembly at least partially within the enclosure and extending into the first hole;
• and
• a second camera attached to the frame member, the second camera having a second lens assembly at least partially within the enclosure and extending into the second hole, the second lens assembly defining:
• a base portion having a first outer diameter and extending through the first opening;
• and
• an end portion having a second outer diameter smaller than the first outer diameter and extending through the second opening.
