Abstract

A display device includes: a base layer; a display element layer on the base layer, and including a light emitting element, a light detection element, and a photovoltaic element adjacent to one another; a light shielding layer on the display element layer, and having a plurality of opening parts; and a color filter layer on the display element layer, and covering the plurality of opening parts. The light detection element and the photovoltaic element are located at the same layer as each other, the light detection element is to detect an external input based on incident light from the outside, and the photovoltaic element is to generate electrical energy based on the incident light.

Dependent claims

An electronic device comprising:

a base layer;
a display element layer on the base layer, and comprising a light emitting element, a photovoltaic element adjacent to the light emitting element, and a pixel defining film having a plurality of openings;
a light shielding layer on the display element layer, and having a plurality of opening parts;
and
a color filter layer on the display element layer, and covering the plurality of opening parts,
wherein the light emitting element comprises first electrode,
wherein the photovoltaic element comprises first electrode and a photovoltaic cell layer disposed on the first electrode of the photovoltaic element,
wherein the plurality of openings comprises a first opening that exposes at least a portion of the first electrode of the light emitting element and a second opening that exposes at least a portion of the first electrode of the photovoltaic element, and
wherein the photovoltaic element is a photovoltaic cell configured to receive incident light to generate electrical energy used to drive the electronic device.

a plurality of light emitting elements in a plurality of light emitting areas, respectively;
a first element in a first area defined between the plurality of light emitting areas;
and
a pixel defining film including a plurality of openings,
wherein each of the plurality of light emitting elements comprises a first electrode and a light emitting layer disposed on the first electrode,
wherein the first element comprises a first electrode and a photovoltaic cell layer disposed on the first electrode of the first element,
wherein the plurality of openings comprises a first opening that overlaps the first electrode of one of the light emitting elements and a second opening that overlaps the first electrode of the first element, and
wherein the first element is a photovoltaic cell configured to receive incident light to generate electrical energy used to drive the electronic device.
