Abstract
An apparatus comprising a crystal; at least three first wires arranged substantially parallel to each other; at least two second wires arranged substantially parallel to each other, each second wire arranged non-parallel to each first wire, such that each second wire crosses each first wire, forming at least six cross points; and at least six colour centres, each colour centre located within the crystal adjacent a different one of the at least six cross points.

An apparatus comprising:
- a crystal;
- at least three first wires arranged substantially parallel to each other;
- at least two second wires arranged substantially parallel to each other, each second wire arranged non-parallel to each first wire, such that each second wire crosses each first wire, forming at least six cross points wherein the first and second wires lie substantially in a first plane;
- at least six colour centres in the first plane, each colour centre located within the crystal adjacent a different one of the at least six cross points and adapted to receive a magnetic field;
- and
- at least six further colour centres in a second plane arranged substantially parallel to the first plane, each further colour centre located adjacent a different cross point of at least six further cross points, and adapted to receive the magnetic field, such that a first projection of the magnetic field onto a colour centre axis of each colour centre is different than a second projection of the magnetic field onto a colour centre axis of the further colour centre closest thereto.
A quantum system comprising:
- a crystal;
- at least three first wires arranged substantially parallel to each other;
- at least two second wires arranged substantially parallel to each other, each second wire arranged non-parallel to each first wire, such that each second wire crosses each first wire, forming at least six cross points;
- and
- at least six colour centres, each colour centre located within the crystal adjacent a different one of the at least six cross points and adapted to receive a magnetic field;
- a magnetic field generator configured to generate the magnetic field such that a first projection of the magnetic field onto a colour centre axis of each colour centre is different than a second projection of the magnetic field onto a colour centre axis of a colour centre closest thereto;
- a current source coupled to each first wire and to each second wire;
- and
- a memory embodying computer-readable instructions;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-readable instructions, which are configured, upon execution by the processor, to cause the processor to:
- control the current source to generate simultaneous currents in any first wire of the at least three wires and any second wire of the at least two second wires, such that the simultaneous currents activate the colour centre adjacent the cross point between the first wire and the second wire.
An apparatus comprising:
- a crystal;
- at least three first wires arranged substantially parallel to each other;
- at least two second wires arranged substantially parallel to each other, each second wire arranged non-parallel to each first wire, such that each second wire crosses each first wire, forming at least six cross points;
- at least six colour centres, each colour centre located within the crystal adjacent a different one of the at least six cross points and adapted to receive a magnetic field;
- and
- a magnetic field generator configured to generate the magnetic field such that a first projection of the magnetic field onto a colour centre axis of each colour centre is different than a second projection of the magnetic field onto a colour centre axis of a colour centre closest thereto.
