Abstract
A camera system of a vehicle includes: a camera within a passenger cabin of the vehicle and configured to capture an image including an occupant of a seat within the passenger cabin; a straight edge detection module configured to detect a straight edge in the image; a score module configured to determine a score for the straight edge, the score corresponding to an optical quality of the camera; and an action module configured to take one or more actions when the score is less than a predetermined value.
Claims19
A camera system of a vehicle, comprising:
- a camera within a passenger cabin of the vehicle and configured to capture an image including an occupant of a seat within the passenger cabin;
- a straight edge detection module configured to detect a straight edge in the image;
- a score module configured to determine a score for the straight edge, the score corresponding to an optical quality of the camera,
- wherein the score module is configured to determine the score using at least one of (a) one or more equations that relate parameters of the straight edge to scores and (b) one or more lookup tables that relate parameters of the straight edge to scores;
- and
- an action module configured to take one or more actions when the score is less than a predetermined value.
A camera optics method for a vehicle, comprising:
- by a camera within a passenger cabin of the vehicle, capturing an image including an occupant of a seat within the passenger cabin;
- detecting a straight edge in the image;
- determining a score for the straight edge, the score corresponding to an optical quality of the camera,
- wherein determining the score includes determining the score using at least one of (a) one or more equations that relate parameters of the straight edge to scores and (b) one or more lookup tables that relate parameters of the straight edge to scores;
- and
- taking one or more actions when the score is less than a predetermined value.
A camera system of a vehicle, comprising:
- a camera within a passenger cabin of the vehicle and configured to capture an image including an occupant of a seat within the passenger cabin;
- a straight edge detection module configured to detect a straight edge in the image;
- a score module configured to determine a score for the straight edge, the score corresponding to an optical quality of the camera,
- wherein the score module is configured to determine the score for the straight edge in response to a determination that the straight edge satisfies predetermined conditions;
- and
- an action module configured to take one or more actions when the score is less than a predetermined value.
