Abstract
The present invention relates to an apparatus (2) for controlling pressure or flow in a fluidic system (3), the apparatus (2) comprising: a first connection device (301) comprising a pumping device (304) and a main outlet (310); a second connection device (302) comprising a flow restriction (305); a third connection device (303) comprising a valve with a modifiable aperture (306); wherein the second connection device (302) and the third connection device (303) are connected to the first connection device (301) at a position between the pumping device (304) and the main outlet (310).
Claims17
An apparatus for controlling pressure or flow in a fluidic system, the apparatus comprising:
- a first connection device comprising a pumping device, wherein said pumping device comprises one or more piezoelectric pumps, a duct having a main outlet at a first end, the duct being configured to be connected to a first gas source at a second end opposite the first end, the pumping device, positioned in the path of the duct, being configured to pump gas across said first connection device from the first gas source to the main outlet, or from the main outlet to the first gas source, and the main outlet being configured to be connected to said fluidic system or to a reservoir of fluid connected to said fluidic system;
- a second connection device comprising a passive flow restriction, the second connection device being configured to be fluidically connected to a second gas source;
- and
- a third connection device comprising an on/off valve having two positions, a fully open position allowing unrestricted fluid flow and a fully closed position preventing fluid flow, the third connection device being configured to be fluidically connected to a third gas source;
- wherein the second connection device and the third connection device are connected as a branch to the duct of the first connection device at a position between the pumping device and the main outlet.
