Insulating glazing comprising a spacer having a reinforcing profile

An insulating glazing comprising:

• a first pane,
• a second pane, the first and second panes forming external main surfaces of the insulating glazing,
• a circumferential spacer comprising at least one polymeric main body and a reinforcing profile,
• the at least one polymeric main body comprising a glazing interior surface, first and second pane contact surfaces, and an outer surface,
• the reinforcing body comprising an inner face, an outer face, and first and second side surfaces,
• the circumferential spacer surrounding an interior space enclosed between the first and second panes, a glazing interior being adjacent the glazing interior surface of the polymeric main body, and an outer interpane space being adjacent the outer surface of the polymeric main body, the outer interpane space corresponding to a peripheral region between the first and second panes outside the interior space, extending from the outer surface of the at least one polymeric main body to an edge region of the first pane and an edge region of the second pane,
• wherein
• the first pane is attached to the first pane contact surface via a primary sealant to seal the glazing interior against passage of gas and water,
• the second pane is attached to the second pane contact surface via another primary sealant,
• the glazing interior surface of the polymeric main body facing the glazing interior has a planar portion that extends continuously from the first to the second pane contact surfaces,
• the inner face of the reinforcing profile is materially joined at least in some sections to the outer surface of the at least one polymeric main body and a width of the reinforcing profile is less than or equal to a width of the at least one polymeric main body, and
• no secondary sealant or gasket that extends the full width of the space from the first pane to the second pane to form an outer seal is located in the outer interpane space such that the outer face of the reinforcing profile constitutes an exposed peripheral surface of the insulating glazing facing an exterior of the insulating glazing.
