Bi-directional sled

A bi-directional sled for a dredging system, comprising:

• a support structure dimensioned and shaped to attach to a distal end of a hydraulic arm of an excavator;
• and
• a shroud assembly supported to the support structure for pivotal movement about an axis extending through the support structure between a first orientation and a second orientation, the shroud assembly having a shroud with a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge such that (i) with the support structure moving the shroud assembly in a first direction relative to material to be dredged, friction between the shroud assembly and material to be dredged pivots the shroud into the first orientation with the first edge contacting the material to be dredged and (ii) with the support structure moving the shroud assembly in a second direction relative to material to be dredged, friction between the shroud assembly and the material to be dredged pivots the shroud into the second orientation with the second edge contacting the material to be dredged.
