Resin produced by polycondensation, and resin composition

A polycarbonate resin, comprising:

• a structural unit derived from a compound represented by general formula (1) below:
• wherein X represents a C1-10 alkylene group;
• and
• a structural unit derived from a compound represented by general formula (2) below:
• wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C1-20 alkyl group, a C1-20 alkoxyl group, a C5-20 cycloalkyl group, a C5-20 cycloalkoxyl group, a C6-20 aryl group or a C6-20 aryloxy group and R represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-20 hydroxyalkyl group;
• and
• wherein the polycarbonate resin has a phenol content of 0.1 to 3000 ppm and a carbonic acid diester content of 0.1 to 1000 ppm.
