A tray for holding one or more articles, the tray comprising:
- a bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel defining an interior space of the tray;
- a first end flap having a first attached portion foldably connected to a first detached portion, the first attached portion foldably connected to the front panel, wherein the first detached portion includes a first base portion connected to a first distal portion along an oblique fold line, the first distal portion foldably connected to the first attached portion;
- and
- a second end flap having a second attached portion foldably connected to a second detached portion, the second attached portion foldably connected to the first side panel, wherein the second detached portion includes a second base portion foldably connected to a second distal portion, the second distal portion foldably connected to the second attached portion, wherein the first base portion is attached to the second base portion such that the first and second detached portions cooperatively define a compartment within the interior of the tray.
A blank for forming a tray for holding one or more articles, the blank comprising:
- a bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel for defining an interior space of the tray formed from the blank;
- a first end flap having a first attached portion foldably connected to a first detached portion, the first attached portion foldably connected to the front panel, wherein the first detached portion includes a first base portion connected to a first distal portion along an oblique fold line, the first distal portion foldably connected to the first attached portion;
- and
- a second end flap having a second attached portion foldably connected to a second detached portion, the second attached portion foldably connected to the first side panel, wherein the second detached portion includes a second base portion foldably connected to a second distal portion, the second distal portion foldably connected to the second attached portion, wherein the first base portion is attachable to the second base portion such that the first and second detached portions cooperatively define a compartment within the interior of the tray when forming the tray.
A method of forming a tray for holding one or more articles, the method comprising:
- obtaining a blank comprising a plurality of panels comprising a bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel, the blank further comprising a first end flap having a first attached portion foldably connected to a first detached portion, the first attached portion foldably connected to the front panel, wherein the first detached portion includes a first base portion connected to a first distal portion along an oblique fold line, the first distal portion foldably connected to the first attached portion and the blank further comprising a second end flap having a second attached portion foldably connected to a second detached portion, the second attached portion foldably connected to the first side panel, wherein the second detached portion includes a second base portion foldably connected to a second distal portion, the second distal portion foldably connected to the second attached portion;
- positioning the plurality of panels extending at least partially around an interior space of the tray;
- attaching the first base portion to the second base portion;
- and
- folding the first and second detached portions into the interior of the tray such that the first and second detached portions cooperatively define a compartment within the interior of the tray.
