Abstract
The present invention relates to a cutter system for an electric shaver and/or trimmer, comprising a pair of comb-like cutting elements with cooperating toothed cutting edges and movably supported relative to each other by a support element, wherein lateral ends of at least one of the cutting elements are provided with lateral protection elements having rounded and/or chamfered edge contours for soft skin engagement, wherein the lateral protection element is enveloping and covering a gap movably receiving the other cutting element and/or enveloping the support element.
Claims19
A cutter system for an electric shaver or a trimmer, comprising a pair of cooperating cutting elements supported relative to each other by a support structure comprising a support element, wherein:
- said cooperating cutting elements comprise a first stationary cutting element having a side facing a second moveable cutting element and an opposing side defining a skin contact surface;
- said second moveable cutting element is moveable in a movement direction;
- said pair of cooperating cutting elements has lateral sides perpendicular to the movement direction and longitudinal sides parallel to the movement direction;
- a first portion of said support element projects at least laterally beyond a first lateral end of said first stationary cutting element;
- a second portion of said support element projects at least laterally beyond a second lateral end of said first stationary cutting element opposite the first lateral end;
- a gap defined between said support element and said first stationary cutting element receives the second moveable cutting element;
- a first portion of the gap between said first portion of said support element and said first lateral end of said first stationary cutting element is filled by a filler material to define a first lateral protection element having rounded and chamfered edge contours for soft skin engagement;
- and
- a second portion of the gap between said second portion of the support element and said second lateral end of the first stationary cutting element is filled by the filler material to define a second lateral protection element having rounded and chamfered edge contours for soft skin engagement.
A cutter system for an electric shaver or a trimmer, comprising a pair of cooperating cutting elements supported relative to each other by a support structure comprising a support element, wherein:
- each lateral end of one of said cooperating cutting elements is associated with at least a part of a lateral protection element having rounded and chamfered edge contours for soft skin engagement such that lateral protection elements are associated with the one cutting element;
- said cooperating cutting elements comprise a first stationary cutting element having a side facing a second moveable cutting element and an opposing side defining a skin contact surface, said second moveable cutting element being moveable in a movement direction;
- said pair of cooperating cutting elements has lateral sides perpendicular to the movement direction and longitudinal sides parallel to the movement direction;
- wherein
- a metal sheet of each of the lateral protection elements is configured to envelop a top surface of the first stationary cutting element as well as a bottom surface of the support element;
- and
- each of the lateral protection elements has a ring shape with open sides and comprises a mid-portion, curved portions extending from the mid-portion and end portions extending toward the mid-portion in a direction generally transverse to the mid-portion.
A cutter system for an electric shaver or a trimmer, comprising a pair of cooperating cutting elements supported relative to each other by a support structure comprising a support element, wherein:
- said cooperating cutting elements comprising a first stationary cutting element having a side facing a second moveable cutting element and an opposing side defining a skin contact surface;
- said second moveable cutting element being moveable in a movement direction;
- said pair of cooperating cutting elements having longitudinal sides parallel to the movement direction;
- a first end portion of the first stationary cutting element is bent away from the skin contact surface to form a first lateral protection element having rounded and chamfered edge contours, wherein the first end portion extends between the longitudinal sides of the first stationary cutting element;
- a second end portion of the first stationary cutting element is bent away from the skin contact surface to form a second lateral protection element having rounded and chamfered edge contours;
- the first lateral protection element and the second lateral protection element envelop opposite lateral sides of the support element and a gap in which the second movable cutting element is received.
A cutter system for an electric shaver or a trimmer, comprising a pair of cooperating cutting elements supported relative to each other by a support structure comprising a support element, wherein:
- said cooperating cutting elements comprising a first stationary cutting element having a side facing a second moveable cutting element and an opposing side defining a skin contact surface;
- said second moveable cutting element being moveable in a movement direction;
- said pair of cooperating cutting elements having lateral sides perpendicular to the movement direction and longitudinal sides parallel to the movement direction;
- a first top portion of the skin contact surface at a first lateral edge of the skin contact surface is covered with a first metal sheet, the first metal sheet bending over the first lateral edge away from the skin contact surface to form a first lateral protection element having rounded and chamfered edge contours;
- a second top portion of the skin contact surface at a second lateral edge of the skin contact surface opposite the first lateral edge is covered with a second metal sheet, the second metal sheet bending over the second lateral edge away from the skin contact surface to form a second lateral protection element having rounded and chamfered edge contours;
- the first lateral protection element and the second lateral protection element envelop opposite lateral sides of the support element and a gap in which the second movable cutting element is received.
