Claims8
A Babesia antigen comprising an about 80 kilodalton recombinant Babesia gametocyte HAPLESS2/GCS1 (HAP2) protein from B. bovis, and at least one affinity tag;
- wherein the recombinant HAP2 protein is encoded by a polynucleotide comprising the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1;
- the antigen being capable of blocking transmission of Babesia by competent ticks.
