Abstract
There is provided a composition that comprises a propionic acid bacterium or a composition that comprises an oligosaccharide. The composition that comprises a propionic acid bacterium or the composition that comprises an oligosaccharide can suppress an increase of body weight of a subject by having the subject ingest the composition.
Claims7
A method for preventing and/or treating weight gain, comprising having a human subject ingest an amount of a composition effective to suppress weight gain or reduce body weight,
- wherein the composition comprises a propionic acid bacterium and an oligosaccharide,
- wherein a content of the oligosaccharide in the composition is 2 to 8% by mass, and
- a content of the propionic acid bacterium in the composition is 1×106 to 1×1012 cfu/mL.
