Abstract
A hair straightening apparatus having two arms pivotably coupled together wherein the arms are arranged to receive hair within a cavity formed between them is provided. At least one of the first arm and second arm includes a plenum having an air outlet for emitting air towards hair within the cavity. A hair clamp including a pair of clamping members for gripping hair therebetween, wherein each clamping member is supported by an inner wall of the first arm and second arm, respectively.
Claims18
A hair styling apparatus comprising:
- a first arm and a second arm coupled together at a first end thereof wherein an inner wall of the first arm is facing an inner wall of the second arm, wherein the first arm and the second arm are arranged to receive hair within a cavity formed between the first arm and the second arm, wherein at least the first arm comprises a plenum, said plenum comprising an air outlet for emitting air towards hair within the cavity, the air outlet being sized and shaped to operably emit air having a laminar airflow such that the air travels out of the cavity in a downward direction from the air outlet towards a bottom of the cavity,
- a hair clamp comprising a first clamping member and a second clamping member for gripping the hair therebetween, wherein the first clamping member and the second clamping member are supported by the inner wall of the first arm and the inner wall of the second arm, respectively, and
- a heater configured to heat the air directed towards the hair within the cavity.
A hair styling apparatus comprising:
- a first arm and a second arm coupled together at a first end thereof wherein an inner wall of the first arm is facing an inner wall of the second arm, wherein the first arm and the second arm are arranged to receive hair within a cavity formed between the first arm and the second arm, and wherein at least the first arm comprises a plenum, said plenum comprising an air outlet for emitting air towards the hair within the cavity, the air outlet being sized and shaped to operably emit air having a laminar airflow,
- a hair clamp comprising a first clamping member and a second clamping member for gripping the hair therebetween, wherein the first clamping member and the second clamping member are supported by the inner wall of the first arm and the inner wall of the second arm, respectively, wherein at least one of the first or second clamping members comprises an elongate bar extending along a longitudinal axis on the inner wall of the respective arm, and wherein at least one of the first or second clamping members is configured to move relative to the arm upon which it is supported, between an extended position and a retracted position, and wherein the at least one of the first or second clamping members that is configured to move between the extended and retracted positions is biased to move towards the extended position, and
- vanes disposed at intervals along the air outlet configured to direct the emitted laminar airflow towards a bottom of the cavity, the vanes spaced apart from one another in a direction along the longitudinal axis.
