Abstract
Wireless communications may use one or more devices for transmission and/or reception that may lead to potentially harmful exposure. One or more safety measures may be used for wireless communication devices, such as maximum power exposure (MPE) reporting and/or related operations. A time window may be used to detect a quantity of exposure instances. A message may be sent indicating exposure, for example, based on a quantity of exposure events during the time window satisfying a threshold.
Claims43
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a wireless device, at least one message indicating:
- a time window for detection of exposure instances that satisfy a measurement threshold and that are associated with at least one antenna panel of the wireless device;
- and
- a reporting threshold, different from the measurement threshold, for reporting detected exposure instances associated with the at least one antenna panel;
- and
- based on one or more exposure instances, detected during the time window and associated with a first antenna panel of the at least one antenna panel, satisfying the reporting threshold, transmitting an indication of the one or more exposure instances.
A wireless device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the wireless device to:
- receive at least one message indicating:
- a time window for detection of exposure instances that satisfy a measurement threshold and that are associated with at least one antenna panel of the wireless device;
- and
- a reporting threshold, different from the measurement threshold, for reporting detected exposure instances associated with the at least one antenna panel;
- and
- based on one or more exposure instances, detected during the time window and associated with a first antenna panel of the at least one antenna panel, satisfying the reporting threshold, transmit an indication of the one or more exposure instances.
A method comprising:
- transmitting, by a base station, at least one message indicating:
- a time window for detection of exposure instances that satisfy a measurement threshold and that are associated with at least one antenna panel of a wireless device;
- and
- a reporting threshold, different from the measurement threshold, for reporting detected exposure instances associated with the at least one antenna panel;
- and
- based on one or more exposure instances, detected during the time window and associated with a first antenna panel of the at least one antenna panel, satisfying the reporting threshold, receiving an indication of the one or more exposure instances.
A base station comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the base station to:
- transmit at least one message indicating:
- a time window for detection of exposure instances that satisfy a measurement threshold and that are associated with at least one antenna panel of a wireless device;
- and
- a reporting threshold, different from the measurement threshold, for reporting detected exposure instances associated with the at least one antenna panel;
- and
- based on one or more exposure instances, detected during the time window and associated with a first antenna panel of the at least one antenna panel, satisfying the reporting threshold, receive an indication of the one or more exposure instances.
