Abstract
In some examples, a biasing structure for a unit cell of a meta-surface comprises a first illumination source to irradiate a first photovoltaic element, the first photovoltaic element so configured as to generate a biasing current to bias an active asymmetrically conducting device bridging a pair of electrically separated conductive patches defining a surface of the unit cell.
Claims19
A multi-bit biasing structure for a unit cell of a metasurface, the multi-bit biasing structure comprising:
- an active asymmetrically conducting device bridging a pair of electrically separated conductive patches defining a surface of the unit cell;
- a plurality of illumination sources;
- and
- a plurality of photovoltaic elements arranged in parallel and configured to generate a biasing current to bias the active asymmetrically conducting device, the photovoltaic elements having different open circuit voltages and configured to be individually irradiated by separate ones of the illumination sources.
