Systems, methods, and devices for data storage with specified data transfer rate

A device comprising:

• storage medium;
• and
• a controller configured to:
• receive a command for a data transfer;
• perform, using a burst size based on the command, a first burst portion of the data transfer;
• perform, based on the command, based on the first burst portion of the data transfer, an idle portion of the data transfer;
• and
• perform, based on the command, based on the idle portion of the data transfer, using the burst size based on the command, a second burst portion of the data transfer;
• wherein at least one of the first burst portion of the data transfer, the idle portion of the data transfer, or the second burst portion of the data transfer is controlled by the controller.

A device comprising:

• storage media;
• a first interface connected to the storage media;
• and
• a controller connected to the first interface, wherein the controller is configured to:
• receive, using a second interface, a first command for a first data transfer;
• receive, using the second interface, a second command for a second data transfer;
• perform, using a first performance parameter based on the first command, a first portion of the first data transfer between the second interface and the storage media;
• perform, based on performing the first portion of the first data transfer, using the a second performance parameter based on the second command, a first portion of the second data transfer between the second interface and the storage media;
• and
• perform, based on performing the first portion of the second data transfer, a second portion of the first data transfer.
