Coupler

An excavator coupler comprising:

• a housing with a top part for attachment to an excavator arm of an excavator, and a bottom part for attachment to an accessory for the excavator, the bottom part comprising a front jaw open to a front of the coupler for receiving a first attachment pin of an accessory and a rear pin receiving area open to a bottom of the coupler for receiving a second attachment pin of the accessory;
• and
• a first latching member for the rear pin receiving area, the first latching member comprising an actuator for moving the first latching member between a latching state a release state;
• wherein:
• the actuator is a hydraulic actuator with a cylinder and a piston;
• and
• a pneumatic piston is provided internal of the piston to bias the piston to an extended condition relative to the cylinder.

An excavator coupler comprising:

• a housing with a top part for attachment to an excavator arm of an excavator, and a bottom part for attachment to an accessory for the excavator, the bottom part comprising a front jaw open to a front of the coupler for receiving a first attachment pin of an accessory and a rear pin receiving area open to a bottom of the coupler for receiving a second attachment pin of the accessory;
• and
• a first latching member for the rear pin receiving area, the first latching member comprising an actuator configured to move the first latching member between a latching state and a release state;
• wherein:
• the actuator is a hydraulic actuator with a cylinder and a piston;
• a sprung driver is provided external of the cylinder to bias the piston to an extended condition relative to the cylinder, the sprung driver being mounted to a side of the cylinder;
• and
• wherein the sprung driver is a pneumatic piston, and a gas cavity of the pneumatic piston is connected to a feed line to allow selective re-pressurization of the gas cavity.
