Abstract
Stimulation devices are disclosed. An example stimulation device includes a chamber which has a flexible wall portion. A drive unit of the stimulation device is in physical communication with the flexible wall portion so as to cause deflections of the flexible wall portion in opposing directions, thereby resulting in a changing volume of the chamber. The changing volume of the chamber results in modulated positive and negative pressures with respect to a reference pressure. An opening of the stimulation device is for applying the modulated positive and negative pressures to a body part. The stimulation device includes a control device for controlling the drive unit.
Claims37
A stimulation device comprising:
- a housing;
- a chamber;
- a flexible material defining an opening, the opening in communication with the chamber, the opening to sealingly engage a portion of a body of a user including a clitoris;
- a wall defining at least a portion of the chamber, the wall unperforated,
- at least a portion of the wall having a first position, a second position, and a third position,
- the first position between the second position and the third position,
- the first position corresponding to a pressure in the chamber being at an ambient pressure when the opening is sealingly engaged with the portion of the body, the second position corresponding to the pressure in the chamber being at a positive pressure above the ambient pressure, and the third position corresponding to the pressure in the chamber being at a negative pressure below the ambient pressure;
- a drive unit, the wall, the chamber, and the drive unit in the housing, the drive unit to cause the at least the portion of the wall to move from the first position to the second position or to the third position and then to move between second position and the third position to cause a volume of the chamber to alternate between a first volume and a second volume, the alternating volume of the chamber to cause the pressure in the chamber to alternate relative to the ambient pressure between positive pressures above the ambient pressure and negative pressures below the ambient pressure, the positive pressures and the negative pressures to be applied to the portion of the body via the sealing engagement of the opening;
- and
- a microcontroller in the housing, the microcontroller communicatively coupled to the drive unit.

- a chamber defined by the stimulation device;
- a flexible material covering at least a portion of the stimulation device, an opening defined in the flexible material, at least a portion of the flexible material including the opening to sealingly engage a portion of a body of a user including a clitoris, the opening in communication with the chamber,
- at least a portion of the chamber having a first position, a second position, and a third position,
- the first position between the second position and the third position,
- the first position corresponding to a pressure in the chamber being at an ambient pressure when the at least the portion of the flexible material including the opening is sealingly engaged with the portion of the body, the second position corresponding to the pressure in the chamber being at a positive pressure above the ambient pressure, and the third position corresponding to the pressure in the chamber being at a negative pressure below the ambient pressure;
- a drive unit, the drive unit to cause the at least the portion of the chamber to move from the first position to the second position or to the third position and then to move between the second position and the third position to cause a volume of the chamber to alternate between a first volume and a second volume, the alternating volume of the chamber to cause the pressure in the chamber to alternate relative to the ambient pressure between positive pressures above the ambient pressure and negative pressures below the ambient pressure, the positive pressures and the negative pressures to be applied to the portion of the body via the opening;
- a microcontroller communicatively coupled to drive unit;
- and
- a user interface element communicatively coupled to the microcontroller, the user interface element to receive a user input.

- a wall in the housing,

- an eccentric operatively coupled to the drive unit to cause the at least the portion of the wall to move from the first position to the second position or to the third position and then to alternate between the second position and the third position to cause the pressure in the chamber to modulate relative to the ambient pressure between positive pressures above the ambient pressure and negative pressures below the ambient pressure, the modulated positive and negative pressures to be applied to the portion of the body via the sealing engagement of the opening;
- a microcontroller in the housing;
- and
- a user interface element, the microcontroller to cause the eccentric to actuate in response to a user input received via the user interface element.

- a drive unit to cause the at least a portion of the wall to move from the first position to the second position or to the third position and then to alternate between the second position and the third position to cause the pressure in the chamber to modulate relative to the ambient pressure between positive pressures above the ambient pressure and negative pressures below the ambient pressure, the modulated positive and negative pressures to be applied to the portion of the body via the opening when the opening is sealingly engaged with the portion of the body;
- and
- a microcontroller communicatively coupled to the drive unit.
