The present invention relates to new uses of seignette salt and can be used in the field of dental and oral care products.

A toothpaste, comprising:
- purified water 20-80 wt %;
- thickener 0.5-1.5 wt %;
- potassium sodium tartrate (seignette salt) 0.01-5 wt %;
- abrasive 0.01-20%;
- preservative 0.01-0.5 wt %;
- and
- surfactant 0.01-1 wt %.
