Isolator including electrically floating intermediate electrode portion

An isolator comprising:

• an insulation layer;
• and
• a capacitor embedded in the insulation layer, wherein
• the capacitor includes
• a first electrode portion arranged in the insulation layer and connected to a first pad formed on a surface of the insulation layer,
• a second electrode portion arranged in the insulation layer and connected to a second pad formed on the surface of the insulation layer, and
• an intermediate electrode portion arranged in the insulation layer and not connected to the first electrode portion and the second electrode portion,
• the intermediate electrode portion includes
• a first intermediate layer and a second intermediate layer differing from each other in position in a thickness-wise direction of the insulation layer, and
• a connector extending in the thickness-wise direction of the insulation layer and connecting the first intermediate layer and the second intermediate layer, and
• the capacitor is formed by coupling the first electrode portion and the second electrode portion through the intermediate electrode portion.
