Method and apparatus for random access

A method performed by a network node, comprising:

• determining a scrambling configuration for Physical uplink shared channel, PUSCH, transmission of a terminal device in a two-step contention-free random access procedure;
• wherein the scrambling configuration indicates that initialization of a scrambling sequence for the PUSCH transmission is based at least in part on a scrambling identifier;
• wherein the determination of the scrambling configuration is based at least in part on one or both of a cell identifier and first configuration information which is related to a scrambling configuration for PUSCH transmission indicated by a PUSCH-config information element in higher level signalling;
• and
• receiving the PUSCH transmission from the terminal device in the two-step contention-free random access procedure, according to the determined scrambling configuration;
• wherein the determination of the scrambling configuration is based at least in part on one or more of:
• first configuration information, which is related to the scrambling configuration for PUSCH transmission of the terminal device;
• second configuration information, which is related to a scrambling configuration for PUSCH transmission of the terminal device indicated by higher layer signaling;
• and
• a cell identifier.

A terminal device, comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more memories comprising computer program codes,
• the one or more memories and the computer program codes configured to, with the one or more processors, cause the terminal device at least to:
• determine a scrambling configuration for Physical uplink shared channel, PUSCH, transmission to a network node in a two-step contention-free random access procedure;
• wherein the scrambling configuration indicates that initialization of a scrambling sequence for the PUSCH transmission is based at least in part on a scrambling identifier;
• wherein the determination of the scrambling configuration is based at least in part on one or both of a cell identifier and first configuration information which is related to a scrambling configuration for PUSCH transmission indicated by a PUSCH-config information element in higher level signalling;
• and
• transmit a PUSCH to the network node in the two-step contention-free random access procedure, according to the determined scrambling configuration;
• wherein the determination of the scrambling configuration is based at least in part on one or more of:
• first configuration information, which is related to the scrambling configuration for PUSCH transmission of the terminal device;
• second configuration information, which is related to a scrambling configuration for PUSCH transmission of the terminal device indicated by higher layer signaling;
• and
• a cell identifier.
