TRS for multicast and broadcast

A method of wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• establishing a connection with a first cell;
• receiving information from the first cell about a tracking reference signal (TRS) for a second cell;
• and
• receiving a configuration for a virtual synchronization signal block (SSB) for the second cell, wherein the virtual SSB utilizes a raster that is different than a synchronization raster, wherein the virtual SSB is quasi-co-located with the TRS using a same virtual cell identifier.

An apparatus for wireless communication at a first cell, comprising:

• one or more memories storing computer-executable instructions;
• and
• one or more processors coupled to the one or more memories and configured to, individually or in combination, execute the instruction to cause the apparatus to:
• establish a connection with a user equipment (UE);
• transmit information about a tracking reference signal (TRS) for a second cell to the UE;
• and
• transmit a configuration for a virtual synchronization signal block (SSB) for the second cell, wherein the virtual SSB utilizes a raster that is different than a synchronization raster, wherein the virtual SSB is quasi-co-located with the TRS using a same virtual cell identifier.

An apparatus for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• one or more memories storing computer-executable instructions;
• and
• one or more processors coupled to the one or more memories and configured to, individually or in combination, execute the instruction to cause the apparatus to:
