Abstract
A method implemented by a video coding apparatus. The method includes determining a padding dimension for a video unit of a video according to a characteristic of the video unit, where the padding dimension is a horizontal padding dimension (padW) or a vertical padding dimension (padH). The method further includes converting between the video unit of the video and a bitstream in accordance with the padding dimension determined.
Claims20
A method of processing video data, comprising:
- determining, during a conversion between a first block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a padding dimension for a first picture of the video according to a size of a coding tree unit (CTU), wherein the padding dimension comprises a horizontal padding dimension (padW) or a vertical padding dimension (padH);
- generating padded samples outside a boundary of the first picture based on the padding dimension;
- and
- performing the conversion based on the padded samples,
- wherein a prediction block of the first block is derived from the first picture,
- wherein the padding dimension is determined according to a formula a× (size+offset), where a is a positive integer, size is a positive integer dependent on or independent from a width or height of the CTU, and offset is a positive integer dependent on or independent from the length of the interpolation filter used in the first picture.
An apparatus for processing video data comprising a processor and a non-transitory memory with instructions thereon, wherein the instructions upon execution by the processor, cause the processor to:
- determine, during a conversion between a first block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a padding dimension for a first picture of the video according to a size of a coding tree unit (CTU), wherein the padding dimension comprises a horizontal padding dimension (padW) or a vertical padding dimension (padH);
- generate padded samples outside a boundary of the first picture based on the padding dimension;
- and
- perform the conversion based on the padded samples,
- wherein a prediction block of the first block is derived from the first picture,
- wherein the padding dimension is determined according to a formula a× (size+offset), where a is a positive integer, size is a positive integer dependent on or independent from a width or height of the CTU, and offset is a positive integer dependent on or independent from the length of the interpolation filter used in the first picture.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that cause a processor to:
- determine, during a conversion between a first block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a padding dimension for a first picture of the video according to a size of a coding tree unit (CTU), wherein the padding dimension comprises a horizontal padding dimension (padW) or a vertical padding dimension (padH);
- generate padded samples outside a boundary of the first picture based on the padding dimension;
- and
- perform the conversion based on the padded samples,
- wherein a prediction block of the first block is derived from the first picture,
- wherein the padding dimension is determined according to a formula a× (size+offset),
- where a is a positive integer, size is a positive integer dependent on or independent from a width or height of the CTU, and offset is a positive integer dependent on or independent from the length of the interpolation filter used in the first picture.
A method for storing a bitstream of a video comprising:
- determining, for a first block of the video, a padding dimension for a first picture of the video according to a size of a coding tree unit (CTU), wherein the padding dimension comprises a horizontal padding dimension (padW) or a vertical padding dimension (padH);
- generating padded samples outside a boundary of the first picture based on the padding dimension;
- generating the bitstream based on the padded samples;
- and
- storing the bitstream in a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium,
- wherein a prediction block of the first block is derived from the first picture,
- wherein the padding dimension is determined according to a formula a x (size+offset), where a is a positive integer, size is a positive integer dependent on or independent from a width or height of the CTU, and offset is a positive integer dependent on or independent from the length of the interpolation filter used in the first picture.
