Systems and methods for monitoring aircraft emissions

A method of determining carbon emissions for an aircraft, the method comprising:

• receiving, with one or more processors of a controller, engine operation data from the aircraft indicating operating conditions of an engine of the aircraft during operation thereof;
• determining, with the one or more processors of the controller, amounts of time that the engine was in each of two or more flight phases based on the engine operation data;
• determining, with the one or more processors of the controller, that gaps in the engine operation data exist;
• generating adjusted engine operation data by adjusting the engine operation data to accommodate for the gaps by estimating operating conditions of the engine to fill the gaps in coverage;
• determining, with the one or more processors of the controller, a cumulative fuel consumption of the engine for one or more flights of the aircraft based on the adjusted engine operation data, the amounts of time that the engine was in each of the two or more flight phases, and fuel flow rates of the engine;
• and
• determining, with the one or more processors of the controller, engine carbon emissions based on the cumulative fuel consumption for the engine.
