Systems, apparatus, and methods for enhanced image capture

An apparatus comprising:

• an image capture device coupled to a vehicle;
• one or more processors configured to perform operations comprising:
• causing a component of the vehicle to induce motion of the image capture device;
• capturing, in a burst sequence using the image capture device, multiple image frames of an image of a scene, the multiple image frames having respective, relative sub-pixel offsets of the image across the multiple image frames due to the induced motion of the image capture device during the burst sequence;
• creating an enhanced image of the scene based on the multiple image frames;
• and
• controlling navigation of the vehicle based on at least the enhanced image.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions, the instructions being executable by one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• causing a component of a vehicle to induce motion of an image capture device coupled to the vehicle;
• capturing, in a burst sequence using the image capture device, multiple image frames of an image of a scene, the multiple image frames having respective, relative sub-pixel offsets of the image across the multiple image frames due to the induced motion of the image capture device during the burst sequence;
• creating an enhanced image of the scene based on the multiple image frames;
• and
• controlling navigation of the vehicle based on at least the enhanced image.
