Managing information about document-related activities

A system for matching providers and consumers of document-related services, the system comprising:

• an electronic processor configured to
• receive an indication that a seeking user is seeking assistance with a first type of task;
• receive from the seeking user identities of one or more user nodes as candidates;
• in response to receiving the indication, select, in a document graph, one or more user nodes each representing a user, each user node connected to a task node representing a task type by a first type of edge, the first type of edge indicating that the user is available to perform the task type, wherein the task type matches the first type of task;
• and
• identify one or more users represented by the selected one or more user nodes as candidates by traversing from the selected one or more user nodes to the seeking user nodes to assist with the first type of task, wherein the selected one or more user nodes identifies a particular portion of a document in which the selected one or more user nodes interacted with;
• identify common topics across the one or more users and aggregate the selected one or more user nodes into a group of users by receiving request from the seeking user nodes or submitting assistance offer;
• add subscription edge connecting the seeking user node to the selected one or more user nodes;
• cause document related activity for the user based on the user's subscription to another user, wherein the document related activity comprising the another user's current and past document activities on a graphical user interface display.

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by an electronic processor, perform a set of functions, the set of functions comprising:

• receiving an indication that a seeking user is seeking assistance with a first type of task;
• receiving from the seeking user identities of one or more user nodes as candidates;
• in response to receiving the indication, selecting, in a document graph, one or more user nodes each representing a user, each user node connected to a task node representing a task type by a first type of edge, the first type of edge indicating that the user is available to perform the task type, wherein the task type matches the first type of task;
• and
• identifying one or more users represented by the selected one or more user nodes as candidates by traversing from the selected one or more user nodes to the seeking user nodes to assist with the first type of task, wherein the one or more user nodes identifies a particular portion of a document in which the one or more user nodes interacted with;
• adding subscription edge connecting the seeking user node to the selected one or more user nodes;
• and
• identifying common topics across the one or more users and aggregating the selected one or more user nodes into a group of users by receiving request from the seeking user nodes or submitting assistance offer;
• causing document related activity for the user based on the user's subscription to another user, wherein the document related activity comprising the another user's current and past document related activities to display on a graphical user interface display.
