Systems and methods for integrating third party services with a digital assistant

An electronic device comprising:

• one or more processors;
• a memory;
• and
• one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
• receiving, from a third party service provider, a first request corresponding to one or more task types of a default task flow model of a digital assistant;
• integrating, based on the first request, the third party service provider with a digital assistant template, wherein the digital assistant template is associated with the one or more task types of the default task flow model of the digital assistant and wherein the digital assistant template includes a linguistic pattern;
• receiving an input of a user;
• identifying, based on the received user input, the digital assistant template integrated with the third party service provider from a plurality of templates that include a plurality of respective linguistic patterns, wherein the plurality of templates includes the digital assistant template;
• in response to identifying the digital assistant template integrated with the third party service provider:
• determining, using the digital assistant template, an intent including a task of the default task flow model;
• and
• sending a second request to perform the task to the third party service provider rather than another third party service provide capable of performing the task.

A method of processing a user input, performed at an electronic device with one or more processors and memory, the method comprising:

• at the electronic device:
• receiving, from a third party service provider, a first request corresponding to one or more task types of a default task flow model of a digital assistant;
• integrating, based on the first request, the third party service provider with a digital assistant template, wherein the digital assistant template is associated with the one or more task types of the default task flow model of the digital assistant and wherein the digital assistant template includes a linguistic pattern;
• receiving an input of a user;
• identifying, based on the received user input, the digital assistant template integrated with the third party service provider from a plurality of templates that include a plurality of respective linguistic patterns, wherein the plurality of templates includes the digital assistant template;
• in response to identifying the digital assistant template integrated with the third party service provider:
• determining, using the digital assistant template, an intent including a task of the default task flow model;
• and
• sending a second request to perform the task to the third party service provider rather than another third party service provide capable of performing the task.
