Abstract
An example methodology includes, by a computing device, determining a micro frontend (MFE) on a page of an application to hibernate based on interaction metrics of the MFE and a hibernation policy and capturing a screenshot image of the MFE. The method also includes, by the computing device, saving information about a current state of the MFE in a manifest associated with the MFE and replacing the MFE on the page of the application with the screenshot image of the MFE to hibernate the MFE.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- monitoring, by a computing device, interaction metrics of one or more micro frontends (MFE) on a page of an application according to a hibernation policy, each of the one or more MFEs comprising autonomous components of the application;
- determining, by the computing device, the MFE as a hibernation target;
- responsive to the determination of the MFE as the hibernation target:
- generating, by the computing device, a manifest associated with the MFE, the manifest including (i) code representing the MFE retrieved from a document object model (DOM) of the page and (ii) information about a current state of the MFE, wherein the code includes one or more of executable script and page markup;
- storing, by the computing device, the manifest in local storage;
- and
- replacing, by the computing device, the MFE on the page of the application with a screenshot image of the MFE to hibernate the MFE.
4 more elements
A device comprising:
- one or more non-transitory machine-readable mediums configured to store instructions;
- and
- one or more processors configured to execute the instructions stored on the one or more non-transitory machine-readable mediums, wherein execution of the instructions causes the one or more processors to carry out a process comprising:
- determining a micro frontend (MFE) on a page of an application to hibernate based on interaction metrics of the MFE and a hibernation policy, wherein the MFE comprises an autonomous component of the application;
- generating a manifest associated with the MFE, the manifest including (i) code representing the MFF retrieved from a document object model (DOM) of the page and (ii) information about a current state of the MFE, wherein the code includes one or more of executable script and page markup;
- storing, by the computing device, the manifest in local storage;
- and
- replacing the MFE on the page of the application with a screenshot image of the MFE to hibernate the MFE.
5 more elements
A method comprising:
- injecting, by a computing device, a manual hibernation user interface (UI) element in a micro frontend (MFE) visible in a viewport of a page of an application, wherein the MFE comprises an autonomous component of the application;
- and
- responsive to activation of the manual hibernation UI element, forcing hibernation of the MFE by:
- capturing, by the computing device, a screenshot image of the MFE;
- generating, by the computing device, a manifest associated with the MFE, the manifest including (i) code representing the MFE retrieved from a document object model (DOM) of the page and (ii) information about a current state of the MFE, wherein the code includes one or more of executable script and page markup;
- storing, by the computing device, the manifest in local storage;
- and
- replacing, by the computing device, the MFE on the page of the application with the screenshot image of the MFE to hibernate the MFE.
