Abstract
Systems, devices, and corresponding non-transitory computer readable media are described in relation to layout detection in respect of individual configurable modular units of an assembly of configurable modular units, that can be arranged in a continuous shape through a set of one or more physical connections.
Claims20
A method for layout detection performed by a controller coupled to an assembly of configurable modular units, the method comprising:
- deriving an array of integers based on data indicative of coupling characteristics between individual configurable modular units of the assembly of configurable modular units arranged in a continuous shape through a set of one or more physical connections, such that any two potential assemblies that are geometrically distinct apart from translation or rigid-body rotation generate distinct arrays of integers, and such that any two potential assemblies that are geometrically indistinct following translation or rigid-body rotation, generate identical arrays of integers;
- and
- storing the array of integers in a data structure encapsulated in non-transitory computer readable media residing on or in communication with the controller.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing machine interpretable instructions, which when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method for layout detection performed by a controller coupled to an assembly of configurable modular units, the method comprising:
- deriving an array of integers based on data indicative of coupling characteristics between individual configurable modular units of the assembly of configurable modular units arranged in a continuous shape through a set of one or more physical connections, such that any two potential assemblies that are geometrically distinct apart from translation or rigid-body rotation generate distinct arrays of integers, and such that any two potential assemblies that are geometrically indistinct following translation or rigid-body rotation, generate identical arrays of integers;
- and
- storing the array of integers in a data structure encapsulated in non-transitory computer readable media residing on or in communication with the controller.
A system for layout detection, the system comprising:
- a controller coupled to an assembly of configurable modular units, the controller including a processor configured to:
- derive an array of integers based on data indicative of coupling characteristics between individual configurable modular units of the assembly of configurable modular units arranged in a continuous shape through a set of one or more physical connections, such that any two potential assemblies that are geometrically distinct apart from translation or rigid-body rotation generate distinct arrays of integers, and such that any two potential assemblies that are geometrically indistinct following translation or rigid-body rotation, generate identical arrays of integers;
- and
- store the array of integers in a data structure encapsulated in non-transitory computer readable media residing on or in communication with the controller.
