Abstract
A coupler for a reciprocating pump includes comprising two collar elements. Each collar element includes a semi annular body, an exterior channel extending on the exterior surface of the semi-annular body, and an interior channel extending along the interior surface of the semi-annular body, the interior channel having a depth and width to accommodate both an end of a liquid pump rod and an end of a reciprocating drive.

A coupler for a reciprocating pump, the coupler comprising:
- two collar elements, each collar element, of the two collar elements, comprising:
- a semi-annular body;
- an exterior channel extending on an exterior surface of the semi-annular body;
- and
- an interior channel extending along an interior surface of the semi-annular body, the interior channel having a depth and width to accommodate both an end of a liquid pump rod and an end of a reciprocating drive;
- a biasing member configured to apply a biasing force on the two collar elements to retain the two collar elements in a position that forms a collar;
- and
- a sheath that overlays the collar and the biasing member, wherein the sheath is configured to compress the biasing member.

A reciprocating pump coupler comprising:
- at least two collar elements, each respective collar element, of the at least two collar elements, comprising:
- a semi-annular body;
- an exterior channel extending on an exterior surface of the semi-annular body;
- and
- an interior channel extending along an interior surface of the semi-annular body, the interior channel having a depth and a width configured to receive an end of a liquid pump rod and an end of a reciprocating drive;
- a finger groove formed on at least one collar element, of the at least two collar elements, wherein the finger groove includes a first portion and a second portion, and wherein the first portion is separated from the second portion by the exterior channel of the at least one collar element, of the at least two collar elements.

- two collar elements, each collar element, of the two collar elements, comprising:
- a semi-annular body, wherein the semi-annular body has a first end and a second end;
- an exterior channel extending on an exterior surface of the semi-annular body;
- and
- an interior channel extending along an interior surface of the semi-annular body, the interior channel having a depth and width to accommodate both an end of a liquid pump rod and an end of a reciprocating drive;
- a biasing member configured to apply a biasing force on the two collar elements to retain the two collar elements in a position that forms a collar;
- and
- a sheath that overlays the collar and the biasing member, wherein the sheath comprises an internal sidewall which forms a corner that receives the first end of the semi-annular body.
