Systems and methods for dispensing medications and supplements

A method for dispensing medication or supplements, comprising:

• housing a plurality of pills comprising medication or supplements within one or more medication dispensing containments;
• wherein the medication containment comprises a lower surface having a dispensing opening and pill capture head sized according to at least one dimension of the plurality of pills contained therein, and a medication sweeper disposed above the pill capture head and between the plurality of pills;
• receiving one or more medication dispensing containments on a platform;
• scanning or receiving input for identifying the one or more medication containments and acquiring data specific to the medication or supplements provided therein;
• and
• according to instructions provided in the acquired data, automatically selecting a particular medication containment from among a plurality of medication containments each containing a different medication from the other containments and dispensing the single pill according to a schedule determined from the acquired instructions by affecting motion of the pill capture head with respect to the medication sweeper to selectively direct a single pill out the dispensing opening, while blocking a remainder of the plurality of pills in the containment to dispense the singe pill for consumption.

A method for dispensing medication or supplements, comprising:

• housing a plurality of pills comprising medication or supplements within one or more medication dispensing containments, each of the medication dispensing containments configured to house distinct medications or medications for dispensing to a patient;
• wherein the medication containment comprises a lower surface having a dispensing opening and pill capture head sized according to at least one dimension of the plurality of pills contained therein, and a medication sweeper disposed above the pill capture head and between the plurality of pills;
• receiving a plurality of medication dispensing containments on a platform;
• scanning or receiving input for identifying each of the medication containments and acquiring data specific to the medication or supplements provided therein;
• logging a location of the received medication containments on the platform in relation to other medication containments loaded on to the platform;
• and
• according to instructions provided in the acquired data, automatically selecting a particular medication containment from among a plurality of medication containments and dispensing the single pill according to a schedule determined from the acquired instructions affecting motion of the pill capture head with respect to the medication sweeper to selectively direct a single pill out the dispensing opening, while blocking a remainder of the plurality of pills in the containment to dispense the singe pill for consumption.
