Recessed lighting assembly mountable under any obstruction

A method comprising:

• attaching a lighting device to a light mounting apparatus thereby forming a lighting module;
• attaching the lighting module to a drywall mounting apparatus thereby forming a recessed lighting assembly, wherein the lighting module fits within an interior of the drywall mounting apparatus;
• and
• mounting the recessed lighting assembly into an opening of a substrate under any obstruction, wherein the substrate has a thickness, and wherein the drywall mounting apparatus has a mounting depth that is less than or equal to the thickness of the substrate, wherein the obstruction contacts a surface of the substrate, and wherein the obstruction is selected from the group consisting of:
• a framing obstruction, a ducting obstruction, a plumbing obstruction, and an electrical obstruction.

A method comprising:

• attaching a lighting device to a light mounting apparatus thereby forming a lighting module;
• attaching the lighting module to a drywall mounting apparatus thereby forming a recessed lighting assembly, wherein the lighting module fits within an interior of the drywall mounting apparatus;
• and
• mounting the recessed lighting assembly into an opening of a substrate under any obstruction, wherein the substrate has a thickness, wherein the drywall mounting apparatus has a mounting depth that is less than or equal to the thickness of the substrate, wherein the drywall mounting apparatus has a mounting flange and a mounting body, wherein the light mounting apparatus has an inner surface and an outer surface, and wherein the outer surface of the light mounting apparatus has a twist lock mechanism that attaches to an inner surface of the mounting body.
