Abstract
An inorganic fiber mat includes inorganic fibers, a particle obtained by firing an inorganic binder, and a mixture of an unfired inorganic binder and an organic binder.
Claims11
An inorganic fiber mat comprising:
- inorganic fibers;
- an inorganic particle obtained by firing a first inorganic binder;
- and
- a dried mixture of an unfired second inorganic binder and an unfired organic binder, wherein
- the inorganic particle is a glassy particle selected from the group consisting of Al2O3 and SiO2, and has a major axis of 0.01 to 4 μm,
- the second inorganic binder is at least one selected from the group consisting of alumina sol and silica sol,
- the organic binder is at least one selected from the group consisting of acrylic latex and rubber latex,
- the dried mixture has a major axis of 5 to 20 μm, and
- the inorganic particle is adhered to a surface of the inorganic fibers, and is free of the inorganic binder and the organic binder.
